At IVES, our mission is to foster individual student promise and passions through arts-enhanced learning. This intentional focus cultivates an environment that allows all students to develop as creative risk takers who collaborate, communicate, and celebrate through diverse learning opportunities while discovering their love of learning as they evolve as authentic human beings. Students are challenged to grow and achieve. We plan our programs and schedules to fully include every student in all learning opportunities and experiences at IVES.

Learning

Inspiration View Elementary School (IVES), is dedicated to engaging all students in their learning by encouraging students to identify their individual passions and talents.

We foster language-rich classrooms. You will see students participating in structured conversations where all students are participating in conversations about their learning. These structured conversations encourage students to build positive relationships, foster collaboration and use academic rich language.

Art Enhanced Education

Grade level teachers and studio teachers have the opportunity to work together to plan and teach art enhanced units. For example, if students are studying light and sound in science, they may also study works of art that utilize light to create various moods and settings. In addition, they may study aspects of sound in music. This leads to deeper critical thinking skills as students think, infer and wonder through making connections between the arts and the academic content they are learning every day.

Arts Integration

Our teachers creatively innovate while implementing research affirmed practices that engage, motivate, and challenge. A wide range of tools and supports provide educators with a variety of methods for reaching all students. Creativity in classrooms enables teachers to transform the classroom from a place to sit and receive instruction, to one where learners share ideas, build team capacity, deepen critical thinking, and leverage individual passions and talents.
